"The rise of technology has necessitated a return to ritual…
That doesn’t mean that technology shouldn’t be utilized by the artist, only that it should be at the service of humanity and not vice versa. I think any artist working now has to take advantage of the technological advances of the past hundred years and use them creatively"

– Keith Haring

My current body of work combines digital imaging with expressive painting methods. Having over ten years of computer graphics experience and a lifetime of artistic painting pursuits, it seemed a natural progression to create a modern statement through the integration of these two disciplines.

Computer-generated models allow for spontaneity and the ability to work with multiple, identical images. The images I create are printed onto Tara canvas using a Vutek 5300 large format inkjet printer with the highest quality, most-durable inks available. The image is then manipulated with acrylics, inks, dyes and enamel spray paints with an assortment of painting tools.

My approach is difficult to define or to be held down by any rigid dogma since it is about freedom, immediacy and authenticity. The elements most necessary for its creation are subjective impressions and personal intuition. My paintings are neither automatic nor calculated, but instead make use of controlled spontaneity that taps into the creativity of the unconscious mind.

The canvas serves as a battleground on which artistic sensibilities struggle with arduous meditations on the complexities of the human psyche. The ultimate goal is to convey raw emotions and evocative sensations that compel the viewer to explore fundamental truths about the nature of human existence.
